Design Your Halloween T-Shirt Challenge


Got a great Halloween t-shirt idea in your head? We’ll print it for you.[1] For free.

At Peel, we believe everyone deserves a great tee. Every day. Even on Halloween. Especially on Halloween.

We don’t think the world has enough great Halloween tees. So we’re issuing a design challenge to artists, geniuses and t-shirt lovers everywhere:

Design a Halloween shirt that you would actually like to wear, let us post it to the Peel store, and we’ll print one for you*, free. If anyone buys a shirt with your design, we’ll pay you a royalty.

There are a few details. You have to actually design the shirt. No stealing other people’s designs. That’s not cool. We’ll accept any design, but we won’t post it if it’s obscene. And if you want other people to like your design, consider how it would look on different shirt colors. Not everyone thinks they look good in fuscia.

Oh, one last thing. There’s a deadline. All designs must be submitted by 11am Eastern time, September 28. That’s 2009. As in this year. So you have one week to turn the world on its ear, strike a blow for Halloween t-shirt democracy, and design a shirt you’d be proud to wear.

Out of ideas? We have a particular need for:

  • Creepy, spooky or downright scary designs (skeletons, spiders, the day of the dead, etc.)
  • Traditional Halloween images (ghosts, witches, haunted houses, a witches brew, etc.)
  • Lighter fare (pumpkins, designs you’d be happy for your kid to wear, if you had one)
  • Funny, sarcastic, comical Halloween tees (for the Halloween cynics among us).

[1] One shirt per person (we’d love multiple designs from you, but you need to pick one shirt). Up to 150 total shirts. Which is more designs that we expect to get. So you’re almost certainly getting that awesome t-shirt you’re designing. But to change “almost certainly” to “really almost certainly,” post your design today.
